Business Development Engineer

Business Development & Proposal Management
- Develop and coordinate high-quality technical and commercial proposals, quotations, RFQs, and tender submissions.
- Support the preparation of solution-based business proposals, including scope definition, pricing structures, project deliverables, and commercial terms.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of customer proposals while maintaining documentation quality and compliance standards.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to strengthen proposal competitiveness and business strategies.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Act as a key point of coordination for customer inquiries, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
- Work closely with customers to understand business challenges, technical requirements, and project objectives.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through effective follow-ups, requirement gathering, and solution discussions.
- Support customer meetings, site visits, technical presentations, and business reviews alongside the Business Development and Sales teams.
Technical Solution Support
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate customer requirements into practical automation solutions.
- Assist in preparing technical specifications, process flow diagrams, solution concepts, and integration documentation.
- Support proof-of-concept activities, demonstrations, and solution validation processes.
- Ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, commercially viable, and aligned with customer expectations.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Sales, Product Development, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders and customers to resolve issues and accelerate decision-making.
- Support strategic projects and initiatives by tracking progress, coordinating deliverables, and ensuring milestone achievement.
- Assist Marketing and Marcom teams in developing technical content for marketing campaigns, exhibitions, and customer-facing materials.
CRM, Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, proposal progress, and project updates within CRM systems.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and business updates for management review.
- Ensure proper documentation control, version management, and knowledge-sharing across teams.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of proposal templates, case studies, and best-practice repositories.
Market Intelligence & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, customer demands, and competitor activities within the industrial automation sector.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes, customer engagement strategies, and solution offerings.
- Participate in industry exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, and networking events to enhance market awareness and brand visibility.
- Continuously expand knowledge of automation technologies, system integration, and industry best practices.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Additional certifications in Business Development, Project Management, Technical Sales, CRM, or Technology Management will be an added advantage.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Business Development Support, Technical Sales, Application Engineering, Proposal Engineering, Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, or a related technical-commercial role.
- Experience in industrial automation, manufacturing technologies, system integration, robotics, fluid dispensing, or related industries is highly preferred.
- Strong capability in preparing technical documentation, proposals, presentations, and customer-facing materials.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and customer engagement skills.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, project management tools, and business reporting platforms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with CAD software, process flow diagrams, or visualization tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and project coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good command of English; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage due to engagement with regional and multinational clients.
Additional Requirements
- Willing and able to travel frequently for customer meetings, site visits, project discussions, trade shows, exhibitions, and business development activities.
- Possess a valid driving license and own transportation.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally when required.
