NSW Celebrate USA R&D Centre Soft Opening with Corporate Dinner 2022

On 14th January 2022, we hosted a ’70/80s Retro’ themed corporate dinner in Lexis Hotel, Teluk Kumpar, Penang celebrated with our guests, business partners, and VIPs. This event is celebrated in conjunction with a soft lunch to mark the success of establishing an R&D centre in San Jose, USA. NSW is honored to have everyone participating in this celebration for an unforgettable evening!

We are pleased to have invited State Entrepreneurial Development, Trade and Industry Committee chairman YB. Dato’ Haji Abdul Halim and Malaysian Semiconductor Industry Association president Dato Seri Wong Siew Hai to be our distinguished guests.

Abdul Halim, who is also the Batu Maung assemblyman and Invest Penang director, said he was proud that NSW is operating in his constituency and making its mark overseas. 

“Malaysia welcomes foreign direct investment but then we would like to see more and more Malaysian companies grow regionally and globally. We would like to be the FDI for other countries and bring back the money here. And I am glad to hear of this R&D center by NSW. NSW has taken a great step forward. They are not only a local player or jaguh kampung, but has gone regionally to Taiwan, China, many other countries and now NSW has moved into the United States,” Abdul Halim said in his speech.

As president of the MSIA, Wong expressed his pride in seeing one of MSIA member firms attain international recognition and success. We need more Malaysian enterprises move up the value chain, particularly in design and development, he added.
